Surfing with an African Flair
Morocco is washed by the Mediterranean Sea in the North and the Atlantic Ocean in the West. The coastline has about 3,500 kilometres. There are many empty and high-quality spots along its entire length.
The best waves for surfing are located on the Atlantic coast near the city of Agadir. However, due to the geographical location and convenient relief of coastal areas, surfing is possible all year round in any corner of the country and at different levels of training. For example, come to Surf Camp Imsouane Morocco.
Surfing season in Morocco
Morocco is one of the most suitable countries to learn the basics of surfing. The beginner season lasts here all year round, but the best period is summer. The waves are small and safe at this time, and the water temperature warms up to +22 degrees Celsius. Despite the fact that the air reaches +30 degrees Celsius in summer, the hot climate is easily tolerated due to the cool ocean wind.
More experienced surfers are much more interested in the period from October to March, when the waves become more powerful, reaching five to six meters, and the water temperature fluctuates around +19 degrees Celsius.
Surfing is an excellent full-body workout that improves the cardiovascular system, strengthens muscles, increases flexibility and balance. It’s a fun way to stay active and healthy.
Morocco is famous not only for surfing, but also for its African flair. It is worth visiting the Bab El Ahad Market, the largest African bazaar in the region of Agadir. And you can also go to Fez, Marrakech and Rabat, see ancient mosques, palaces and gardens.
